Bernard Campbell, known throughout Northern Ireland as "Barney Campbell", opened his office in Belfast City Centre in 1908. His son Brian Campbell continued in his fathers footsteps until retirement in 1993. His grandson Mark Campbell continues the practice in a rapidly changing legal world. Margaret McGauley joined the firm in Christmas 1992 as the first woman partner.
Since then the practice has continued to develop to meet the changing needs of all of its clients. The firm has a forthright practice with a wealth of experience and is capable of embracing new ways of resolving legal problems. He attended the Institute for Professional Legal Studies and was awarded the Thomasena McKinney prize for the best solicitor student and was admitted to the role of solicitors in 1992

He also deals extensively with children’s law and is a solicitor authorised to act on behalf of children under accreditation from the Law Society
Also deals extensively in Criminal law at both Magistrate and Crown Court level along with wills and probate matters
In 2001, he was awarded a Certificate in Advanced Advocacy skills by the Law Society in Northern Ireland
