The Central Government has set up several registration offices all over the country. Each registration office is headed by 'registrar of Companies' assisted by some Additional, Joint, Deputy and Assistant Registrars. The Registrar of Companies controls the task of incorporation of companies and registration of documents such as memorandum articles, prospectus, annual return, etc.
