IMMIGRATION - VISA UNITED NATIONS DUTY AND NGO'S VISA
? Expatriate staff of UN agencies working in Pakistan and their families are allowed gratis visa/extension on recommendation of Foreign office.
? Expatriate staff of NGO'S working in Pakistan are allowed visa extension on the basis of request from the organizations or concerned government departments only.
? Pakistan missions abroad may issue multiple entry visa up to 3 years to businessmen and investors from 45 listed countries (List A) with substantial investment in Pakistan.
? Multiple entry resident visa up to 3 years will be issued to businessmen of all countries except those not recognized by Pakistan, who bring in an amount of US$ 2,00,000/-.
? The Regional Passport Offices at Islamabad as well as at Provincial capitals, may allow one year extension in business visa to nationals of the listed countries on submission of the following documents:-
a. Valid Passport b. Proof of ownership or c. Proof of Partnership with a local registered firm. d. For sole proprietorship, application from the foreigner duly attested by Notary Public Commissioner. TOURIST VISA
? The Regional Passport Offices are authorized to allow visa extension upto three months, charging visa fee as fixed on reciprocal basis.
? Regional Passport Office can also allow two entries to the tourists, charging visa fee fixed on reciprocal basis subject to a minimum of US $ 10 only.
? The foreigners wishing to visit Northern Areas, Deputy Commissioner-Gilgit and Deputy Commissioner Skardu may issue visa extension and one re-entry to the tourists for a period of three months, charging further visa fee.
? Foreign nationals working as house maid/domestic help in Pakistan require NOC from their embassy for employment.
? They must submit i. proper employment contract ii. photocopies of passport to be submitted to the Ministry of iii. Interior while applying for visa/extension.
? Missionaries intending to work in Pakistan must provide their Ten Year CV from the mission along with the application.
? Missionary Visa is only allowed in replacement of a Missionary worker who has left Pakistan and does not intend to return.
DIPLOMATS VISA
? Diplomats and non-diplomatic staff of the foreign Embassies/Missions working in Pakistan will submit their applications through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with recommendation of their respective missions.
? Foreign students, wishing to study in Pakistan may be granted student Visa on submission of i. NOC of the respective Ministry ii. NOC from the country of origin and iii. bonafide certificate of the Institution,
? However the visa may be extended on submission of earlier study visa and all the above documents which may be valid for one year with one re-entry, subject to validity of Passport within one week of the receipt of such request from the applicant.
? All foreigners are exempted from registration with the Police except the nationals of following countries; and also such other foreign nationals who are directed by the immigration authorities to report to FRO for registration and a stamp is affixed to this effect, on their passports.
? Nationals in the managerial category, who are issued work permit/visa from these countries will be exempted from Police registration except Indians and foreigners of Indian origin. ? List of Countries for Liberal Business Visa Policy
? IMMIGRATION PROCEDURESEXISTING BUSINESS VISA POLICY? ? To facilitate travel to and staying in Pakistan for foreign businesspersons and investors, business visa policies have been considerably relaxed.
? The bonafied businessman & investors from the countries above listed in List A may be issued bussiness visa upto 3 Year with multiple entries by Pakistan Missions Abroad. ? WORK VISA PROCEDURES? As per the New Policy uniform facility has been extended to exempt technical and managerial personnel from work permit for the newly opened sectors of the economy, which includes i. Agriculture, ii. Service and iii. Social Sectors,
? This is in addition to the exemption already enjoyed by such personnel for working in the manufacturing/industrial and infrastructure sectors.
? They are now only required to obtain work visas.?
Work visas will be granted to foreign technical and managerial personnel for the purpose of transferring skills and know-how.
These visas will be granted subject to a constructive plan to train Pakistani personnel to take over the technical and managerial responsibilities over a reasonable period of time.? The work visa may be issued for a period up to 5 years or for the life of the applicant's passport.
The concerned Pakistani Mission abroad will grant work visas to the applicant whereas extension in work visa will be endorsed by the Regional Passport Office of the city where the expatriate is working upon authorization by the Ministry of Interior. In case of multiple entry visas, the number of entries will not be restricted. OVERSTAY SURCHARGE ? (a) All Foreign Nationals except holders of diplomatic passports ? Period of Overstay ?????????????? ??????????? Overstay Surcharge up to 2 weeks ? ??????????????????????????????????????????? NIL above 2 weeks to 1 month? ???????????? US $ 20/- above 1 month to 3 months ???????????? US $ 50/- above 3 months to 1 year ??????????????????????????? US $ 100/- ? ? (b) Foreigners of Pak Origin except children up to 12 years of age. ? Period of Overstay ??????????????????????? Overstay SurchargeUp to one month - ???????????????????????????????????????? NIL above 1 month to 6 months ???????????? US $ 10/- above 6 months to 1 year ??????????????????????????? US $ 20/- Beyond 1 year ????????????????????????????????????????????? US $ 40/- per year ? ? A 50% surcharge shall be payable in case of children up to 18 years of age. ? (c) Indian Nationals ? ? Rs. 20/- per day shall be charged for any period of overstay.
